Germany introduced the electronic waybill in April 2022, and wants to make it mandatory. For the time being, 31% of freight forwarders use the electronic version exclusively, but the majority believes that the electronic waybill is the future. By replacing paper, the problems associated with manual filling-in and scanning can be avoided. The electronic waybill can significantly reduce workload. Most say it speeds up information exchange, makes the supply chain more transparent and reduces costs.
